Christian Debt Counseling Is The Answer To People’s Prayers

The Bible refers to debt. It also makes reference to borrowers and lenders alike. Romans 13:8 cautions, “Let no debt remain outstanding”. Proverbs 22:7 states, “The borrower is servant to the lender”. Psalm 37:21 says, “The wicked borrow and do not repay”. Many Christians are plagued by debt. They are enslaved to their monthly obligations, and they are praying for a solution to their financial worries. For servants of God there is Christian debt counseling. They are non-profit agencies that are driven by Christian principles. Money troubles create distractions. Many Christians believe that their financial problems create a distraction from their service to God. No one, who is financially bound, can be spiritually free.

Part of being a good steward of God is giving tithes. Most Christians believe that they should contribute no less than ten percent of their gross wages to the church offering plate. After food is placed on the table, many people do not have enough money left to pay their debts and give to God. This leaves them torn. They know that it is wrong to ignore their obligations. However, they also know that giving to God is the right thing to do. Christian debt counseling can help reduce monthly payments, lower interest rates, eliminate late and over limit fees, and consolidate bills into one convenient monthly payment. A debt restructuring plan allows Christians to do the right thing. It makes providing for a family, repaying debts, and giving to God possible.

Bankruptcy is an escape from debts, obligations, and responsibilities. It is financially and legally different from a debt restructuring plan. Christians consider it to be morally wrong. Christian debt counseling releases servants of God from their financial burdens, but it allows them to resolve their financial woes with integrity.
